Speaking of "McSame"...

...I hate the term.  It's a constant reminder of just how many people watch Grey's Anatomy.

Not that I would know the name is derived from that show or anything.

Anyhow, this article shows just how at odds John McCain and George Bush are.  Especially when you consider Sen. McCain's continued call for a cap and trade system to combat global warming, his fervent rejection of earmark spending and consistent critique of  how the war in Iraq was handled. Certainly not the "McSame" at all.

There of course are some similarities to Bush's policies, most notably on taxes.  However, when policies make sense you continue them no matter who was in office before you. (See the transition between IKE and Kennedy, the later of whom continued policies of the Cold War, including military build up). Further more, McCain's view on subsidization is drastically different from President Bush's and, in my opinion, far wiser.  At outlined previously on this blog, Obama's economic policies at best simply don't make sense and at worse promise to further dig our government in a hole of subsidization, socialism, and massive debt (which actually would be carrying over some of the worst policies of the Bush administration.)

Some Republicans need to "run to the left" during the general election. Thankfully, John McCain can simply stay where he has always been: independent and working for the best interests of the American people.  Now if we can just get people to start watching good television (The Office on NBC, airing at the same time, for starters).
