Historically, the Republican party has been "top down" in leadership structures. Leadership comes from the political wing and the rest of the GOP falls in line.
Due to the recent unpleasantness (read: the last election), a number of interesting grassroots efforts have taken root to change this historical paradigm and give voice to every-day Republicans. My firm belief is that the party must reorient itself to the practical concerns of everyday Americans:
- Freedom and equal opportunity for all.
- More effective - not just smaller - and responsive government.
- Reinventing the tax code so it is simple and fair. (Even elected officials can't keep it straight!)
- Fiscal Discipline in Government that will be an example for all Americans.
- Transparent and Ethical Governance.
What are your concerns? What do you think that Party should focus on? Currently groups like The New Republicans and Rebuild The Party are starting this conversation. I would encourage you to get on board today and make yourself heard regarding the future of the GOP and American Conservatism.

Grassroots? I built Obama's winning, national system -- please forgive me...
My name is Steven Corey Adler, and I am the cofounder and original architect of Voter Activation Network, Inc. Please Google it - this is the one Karl Rove said Republican's ought to have, and was credited as the Democrats winning technology. I sold my half of VAN in 2005 and "switched sides", building rVotes, LLC as a Grassroots, Republican only tool. As of January 2010, I am now allowed to use rVotes, and deploy this world class system to help rebuild Republican grass roots politics.
I'm looking for some sharp Republican political consultants or state wide candidates in order to get the system seen and used. Does anyone here have any ideas, or can make any introductions to folks who can use this amazing technology?
Please let us know!
